Here’s the Dirt: Liberty Mutual to relocate to Liberty Lake

Liberty Mutual

About 800 Liberty Mutual workers in Spokane will move into remodeled space at the former Agilent Technologies building in Liberty Lake next year. A company spokesman said the relocation will affect the insurance company’s Spokane-area service center and its claims call center.

The service center takes calls from Liberty Mutual agents across the country.

Agilent’s large building, now called Meadowwood Technology Campus, is owned and managed by Greenstone Corp., which is dividing the 250,000- square-foot structure into offices. Liberty Mutual will use about 100,000 square feet.

The relocation affects Liberty Mutual’s 800 Spokane-area workers, including agents from the company’s Safeco operations center in Liberty Lake.

Medical office

Meridian Construction is building a medical office on speculation at 12104 E. Main in Spokane Valley. The site formerly had a home that was demolished, making way for the project, said company manager Mark D’Agostino.

Meridian will lease the 5,000-square-foot building for medical service providers. The property is next to a Spokane County library branch.

Work is expected to start in January with a target completion date in May 2012. D’Agostino said the construction and land costs come to between $1.5 million and $2 million.
