Bundle up for Oakesdale Elementary Tuesday

Tuesday will be a cold day for Oakesdale Elementary students, district officials said in a news release this evening. “We are having work done to the boiler and heating system that will require the system to be powered off for the majority of the day,” the announcement said. “Please send your students to school dressed warmly, as they should be anyway due to the weather.” Meanwhile, the Colville School District will be closed Tuesday, including all classes, sporting events and practices, the district announced this afternoon. And in Hunters, Wash., school start times and buses will run two hours late Tuesday. The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a winter storm warning for Northeast Washington, with heavy snow expected followed by rain on Tuesday. Six to 10 inches of snow could accumulate in the valleys from Colville to Sandpoint, the weather service said.
