Snow and rain close some schools to the north
Schools are closed today in the Colville, Kettle Falls, Chewelah, Valley, Mary Walker and Wellpinit school districts, due to bad weather and dangerous driving conditions. In the Deer park School District, high schoolers will be let out at 11 a.m., and all other schools are closed.
The Columbia, Riverside and Cusick districts are starting two hours late today.
In North Idaho, the Lake Pend Oreille School District is closed today.
The school closures are due to snowfall followed by heavy rain on top of the snow.
