Labrador works for Big Oil

Rep. Raul Labrador, R-Idaho, has demonstrated who he is representing, and it isn’t the people of his Idaho district. He wants to run with the big dogs, appearing in public with anti-tax lobbyist Grover Norquist and writing legislation favorable to Big Oil – legislation favored by the Koch brothers.

He’s representing the famed 1 percent, mega-corporations and the ultra-wealthy. As far as I know, these people don’t live in Idaho.

Legislation assisting creation of alternative energy sources is a good investment, and will ultimately lead to many American jobs and independence from foreign energy sources.

If we did not have to get our fuel from abroad, perhaps we would have more peaceful relations around the world, and less spending on wars.

If we had people working in domestic energy creation, those folks would pay taxes, spend money on consumer goods and the jobs would multiply.

But in this country, representatives are concerned only with the size of their campaign chests. I’ll bet Labrador’s is swelling nicely.

Let’s fire him and find someone who will represent us, find solutions to our problems, and think further ahead than the next election.

A bonus would be someone who would actually respond to constituents.
