Mt. Spokane outlasts Gonzaga Prep

Kennadie Clute finished with match highs of 13 kills and 25 digs Tuesday as Mt. Spokane (5-1) outlasted host Gonzaga Prep 3-2 to move into second place alone in the Greater Spokane League.

Annie Arnzen added 25 assists and two aces for the Wildcats, who won the first two games and held off the Bullpups 16-14 in the clincher. Bianna Nikdel had 40 assists for the Bullpups (4-2).

Also in the league, Paige Montgomery and Hannah Zalopany combined for 28 kills and 10 blocks to guide first-place Mead (6-0) to a 3-1 win over visiting Central Valley. Mikayla Ness led the Bears (4-2) with 18 kills and four blocks. … Kylie Collins had 25 assists and two aces and Kayleigh Valley finished with 25 kills as visiting University (3-3) outlasted North Central 3-2.
