A man reportedly suffering a diabetic reaction was found dead this morning inside his burned car along a closed portion of East Seltice Way in Post Falls. Idaho State Police told KHQ the man had left his job after having the reaction about 3:30 a.m. Later this morning, a passerby spotted a car on fire in the closed portion of East Seltice Way at North Cedar Street. The man, who has not been positively identified, was westbound in a Subaru Legacy on Seltice Way near Commerce Loop when he went through several coned-off areas in a construction zone, hitting several cones and a construction barrel, according to an ISP news release. The vehicle continued to travel three-quarters of a mile after hitting the cones, then stopped prior to Cedar Street. The vehicle then caught fire. The man was unable to exit the vehicle and died as a result of the fire, the news release said. ISP received the call just after 5 a.m., and was on the scene after daybreak investigating the fatality. The cause of the fire was not clear; the crash is still under investigation.
