In brief: Chase bank robbery suspect ID’d from surveillance video
Spokane police have identified a man they suspect robbed a Chase bank at 5508 N. Division St. on Wednesday.
Officers studied the surveillance video of the robbery and developed probable cause to arrest Jerimiah J. Pickup, 21, on suspicion of first-degree robbery, Spokane police said in a news release. He is still at large.
A robber entered the bank about 4:40 p.m., told the teller he had a weapon, and demanded money. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Pickup also is suspected of robbing a bank in Multnomah County, Ore. He was last seen in a gold, 2000s Impala-style sedan with tinted windows.

SCC student reports being raped in school parking lot
A Spokane Community College student reported she was raped in a car in a campus parking lot at 10 a.m. Wednesday, authorities said Thursday.
Spokane police are investigating. The woman did not know the man, authorities said, and the rapist remains at large.
“As soon as she told us about it, we started working on an alert to let everyone know to be aware,” said Anne Tucker, a college spokeswoman. “That’s the most important thing, so people can be on the lookout.”
The rape occurred in the large parking lot between the clock tower and fire science tower (P-17) in a vehicle described as an early 2000s or late 1990s silver four-door Acura.
The rapist is reported to be a white male in his early 20s with blond hair and a skinny build. He is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall.
Anyone with information about the rape is asked to call Crime Check, (509) 456-2233.
