Sun may appear later today

Clouds this morning may give way to a sunny afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. The Pacific storm that settled over the Inland Northwest this week is moving off to the east, allowing a shortlived return to sunny weather. Forecasters said they expect the sun to appear by this afternoon and temperatures to warm to the upper 50s. Saturday should also bring sunshine and a mild temperature in the lower 60s. However, the moisture brought by this week’s rain could result in fog tonight and early Saturday. Lows tonight may dip to the upper 30s. After that, overnight lows in the 40s are expected. Frost is not expected through at least the middle of next week. The chance of rain returns on Sunday at about 40 percent. The Pacific storm track is likely to bring a chance of rain at times through much of next week. At 7 a.m., it was 46 at Spokane International Airport and Coeur d’Alene and 48 at Felts Field and in Deer Park.
