McDonald’s swing manager makes ‘Voice’ contest semifinals

Jessica Root, swing manager at the Spokane Valley McDonald’s, 10516 E. Sprague Ave., has been named semifinalist in the fourth Voice of McDonald’s contest.

Jessica Root, the swing manager at the Spokane Valley McDonald’s, 10516 E. Sprague Ave., was recently recognized for her talent at the microphone, when she was named one of the 22 semifinalists in her employers’ fourth Voice of McDonald’s global singing contest.

In a press release from McDonald’s, Root said “This is an incredible opportunity for me and I’m so honored to have been chosen as a semifinalist. Working at McDonald’s has given me a chance to grow on so many levels, both personally and professionally. I can’t wait to share my passion for singing with a global audience.”

It is now up to Root’s customers to help her advance to the next level in the competition. Through Nov. 1, people can visit www.voiceof mcdonalds.com and vote for their choice and help decide who has the next “voice” to advance in the competition. If Root is voted among the top three contestants, she will be named a U.S. finalist on Nov. 15 and win a trip to the McDonald’s 2012 Worldwide Convention in Orlando, Fla., in April. The grand prize is $25,000.
