Faithful hold fall festivities

Fall and Halloween are bringing special events to Spokane Valley churches this week.

St. John Vianney Catholic Church will host its annual fall craft fair Oct. 22 and Sunday, Oct. 23.

Many crafters are expected to attend and there will also be baked goods, including pies, breads, jams, cookies and more. Raffle prizes will include cash and hand-blown Christmas ornaments, knitted sweaters and Christmas villages.

Coffee and doughnuts will be served both days. Lunch and dinner items will be available for purchase on Saturday. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 22 and 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 23. There is no admission charge. The church is at 503 N. Walnut Road.

• Members of Spokane Valley United Methodist Church will decorate trunks and truck beds for the fifth annual “Trunk-R-Treat” event next Saturday from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Children up through the fifth grade are invited to put on a costume and make the rounds of the church parking lot colleting candy.

The church, at 115 N. Raymond Road, will also serve hot cider and doughnuts.

Christian singer visits Spokane

Contemporary Christian singer Marsha Stevens will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Friday at the Veradale United Church of Christ, 611 N. Progress Road. Donations will be accepted.
