Thankful for Verner

So, it is that time of year when people start slinging mud at their political opponents. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank Mayor Mary Verner for all of the hard work and tough decisions that she has made during her first term as mayor of Spokane.

On your recent visit to Spokane’s sister city, Nishinomiya, Japan, you represented the city of Spokane very well. The mayor of Nishinomiya had visited Spokane and participated in the 2011 Lilac Parade. It is only right that the city of Spokane reciprocate. You really didn’t have to spend your own money for food and other costs; that is why a travel budget is created.

As far as not answering questions regarding the Otto Zehm case; I’m not an attorney, but it is my understanding that this case is currently in litigation. The mayor cannot answer questions; the city of Spokane is being sued.
