Prop. 1 protects workers

Proposition 1, on the November ballot, protects the rights of workers – both those in unions and those not in unions. This includes collective bargaining powers.

The Spokane City Council endorsed collective bargaining powers for workers earlier this year, as state legislatures in Wisconsin and Idaho worked to strip such powers from workers.

Collective bargaining allows workers to join together in negotiating for health care and wages. Rather than their corporate employers holding all the cards, collective bargaining creates a level playing field for employees.

Prop. 1 is endorsed by the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1439, the Spokane Regional Labor Council, AFL-CIO, the Washington State Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters, Local 44, Spokane Chapter, NE Washington/N. Idaho Building and Construction Trades Council, Laborers Local 238 and IBEW Local 73 to name some.

Prop. 1 protects each of us in our workplace. Yes on Prop. 1.
