Clouds and sun breaks likely through weekend

Mild autumn weather today through Sunday will bring a mix of sun breaks, clouds and a chance of showers to the Inland Northwest.

Highs today should reach the upper 50s with lows tonight in the middle 40s.

The chance of showers is 30 percent today.

The weather is likely repeat itself through Sunday with mild conditions and few periods of showers.

A series of weak disturbances is moring inland from the Washington coast, bringing a heavier cloud cover and a likelihood that rain showers will arrive over the next three to four days.

But temperatures should run a few degrees above the normal high of 56. Lows should stay well above freezing until early next week.

Cooler weather starting Monday night could bring an end to the lingering growing season with the first frosts and freezing weather likely to arrive then.

Although temperatures are going to ratchet down by several degrees, the trend of relatively mild autumn weather is likely to continue through next week.

At 8 a.m. today, it was 44 at Spokane International Airport.
