Make Spokane even better

Spokane has been my home for over 30 years. During this time, there has been positive growth, such as the University District, a revitalized downtown and Kendall Yards. This growth has always been the result of leaders and institutions collaborating, with an eye to the future needs of our city. We have a chance to continue building a strong city. The leaders in our city need to be people who are smart, who gather and weigh the needs of all concerned parties. They need to be decisive and willing to take calculated risks.

Mayor Mary Verner and Councilman Richard Rush have proven themselves to be smart, responsive leaders. Ben Stuckart and Joy Jones are individuals who are highly involved in communities within Spokane. They show a great willingness to listen, learn and work hard. Our schools will be well-served by Deana Brower, who brings vision and experience to the school board position.

Rather than focusing on what’s wrong about Spokane, let’s look at what is right and build on it. We have a beautiful city and it is our job to make it even better.
