Cheap solution for shelter

For little more than couch change, Spokane has the opportunity to finally provide a safe, clean and ultimately cost-effective facility for lost, unwanted and neglected animals in our community.

No one questions the need for a decent animal control facility, and with interest rates and construction costs at record lows, it makes fiscal sense to move on this project now. At less than $12 per year for a family owning a $200,000 home, I think we can afford it.

“The measure of a society can be how well its people treat its animals” – Mohandas Gandhi.

I urge voters to approve Spokane County Measure 1 to replace the Spokane Regional Animal Protection Shelter.
