This week’s Pac-12 picks

After last Thursday night’s Arizona win, we were on a 15-2 roll and getting a bit over-confident. Should have listened to that inner Hans Solo. You know, the voice that screams, “Great kid. Probably not. ASU, 35-10. California at UCLA (Cal by 5.5): The Bruins need to win. The Bears want to win. The Bruins don’t have enough players. That wins. Cal, 24-17. Oregon State at Utah (Utah by 5): If the Beavers that played last week show up, the Utes are in for a long day. Utah, 14-10. Arizona at Washington (Washington by 5): Nick Foles should throw for about a mile but it probably won’t be enough. UW, 49-42. Stanford at USC (Stanford by 7.5): This is tough, because I wonder how much of a grudge match it will be. I’m guessing there is still some residue from the “what’s your deal?” game. Stanford, 35-17. Washington State at Oregon (Oregon by 36.5): This is tough, mainly because we don’t know which Ducks will play. I’m guessing the stars rest. Oregon, 49-17. Last week: 4-2 overall, 3-3 vs. spread; Season: 48-11 overall, 34-18 vs. spread.
