A giant-sized request

A JumboTron is the next item on Brian Kelly’s wish list for Notre Dame Stadium. Notre Dame home games will never be mistaken for rowdy – the atmosphere usually matches the 81-year-old stadium’s age – and the second-year Irish coach would like to liven things up. Notre Dame played its first night game in 21 years Saturday against USC, and commercial music was pumped in over the P.A. system, including Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train” when the defense faced third down. A massive scoreboard that can show replays is a logical progression, Kelly said Wednesday. Notre Dame has long resisted adopting the in-game entertainment that is the norm at almost every other stadium in the country, preferring to keep the focus on the game itself. – AP
