Attack on writers way out of line

How dare Nadine Y. Joubert presume to speak for the “rest of us” in her mean and nasty letter “Relevant topics, please” (Voice, Aug. 18). I love reading the articles written by the Valley Voice female journalists, and I am not in the “circle of friends” of any of the journalists Nadine calls “hokey female feature writers.”

If Nadine doesn’t like reading about vacations, birds chirping or kids eating breakfast, she can skip these charming human interest stories. She can go right to the front page and get her fill of news of the ongoing tragedies and injustices of the world, but please don’t begrudge those of us who cherish the simple pleasures in life. We look forward to reading about family life, vacations, birds chirping, the ongoing saga of the infamous “Chicken,” and the heart-warming antics of adopted kitties Milo and Thor. Rather than bashing that which she cannot understand, maybe Nadine needs to learn to stop and smell the roses.
