Girl, 15, hospitalized after head-on crash north of Spokane

A Spokane teenager and a Colbert man were injured Thursday night in a head-on vehicle collision on Highway 2 near Eloika Lake.

The accident happened 5 miles north of the Riverside area shortly before 7 p.m. A southbound 1996 Ford Explorer driven by Sean R. Grace, 24, of Colbert traveled into the northbound lane and struck a 2008 Nissan Frontier pickup, towing a tent trailer, driven by Brent E. Williams, 35, of Spokane. A passenger in the pickup, a 15-year-old Spokane girl, was injured, as was Grace. Williams was not injured.

The girl was listed in satisfactory condition this morning at Providence Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane. The Washington State Patrol has not released her name because she is a juvenile who may be the victim of a crime committed by the other driver.

Grace was taken to Holy Family Hospital, where he was treated and released.

The accident remains under investigation.
