Uniform sale nets $1,100 for EVSD

The East Valley School District held a huge sale of its old uniforms at Mountain View and East Valley middle schools on Aug. 26 – selling off sweatshirts, track suits, baseball uniforms and more.

“It was a great sale,” said activities director Joe Kostecka.

He said they sold about 1,100 items and made about $1,100, which will go toward new green and white uniforms sporting the Knights mascot. The district is moving toward K-8 schools and has closed Mountain View Middle School and changed the mascots at every school in the district to the Knights.

“We do have football jerseys left that we’re going to sell at our first football game,” Kostecka said Thursday.

He said the community turned out in force to buy the uniforms – some youth sports groups turned out and he sold boxes of uniforms to them at a discounted rate.
