Traffic accident injures two drivers

Associated Press

TERREBONE, Ore. – A Madras man is recovering after a piece of wood from a tractor-trailer smashed through his windshield, piercing his upper-left chest.

KVAL-TV reports Joshua Wagenblast, 28, drove across the center lane on state route 97 and hit a trailer before colliding with another car.

Susan Kasting, a 63-year-old driver of the other car, suffered serious injuries in the crash.

Wagenblast was southbound in a 2000 Chrysler Concorde when his vehicle struck a pickup hauling a trailer and then hit the trailer’s left side. A piece of wood from the trailer shot through Wagenblast’s windshield and struck him.
