Procrastinators likely to shell out more money for fall licence fees
Washington state’s first general hunting-fishing license fee increase in a decade kicked in at the beginning of September.
Procrastinators are spending more money if they purchase their licenses after that date, although a few license fees decreased.
Hunters buying second doe tags are taking one of the biggest hits among residents: The price tripled, from $22 to $66 starting Sept. 1.
On the other hand, the deer tag for youths and disabled hunters dropped from $23.60 to $19.80.
Sampling of other resident changes:
• Deer, elk, bear and cougar tag package, previously $81.20, increased to $93.50.
• Small game license, $38, increased to $38.50.
• Freshwater fishing license, $24, increased to $27.50.
