Dual response: Firefighters from the Spokane Valley Fire Department and Spokane County Fire District 8 battle a blaze Friday afternoon at 2515 S. Timberlane Drive in Spokane Valley. A neighbor called in the fire just before 1 p.m., reporting that smoke and flames were visible. Fire destroyed the garage and part of the home, along with a Mercedes and a motorcycle. The home’s resident, who was inside the house when the fire started, suffered burns to his arms, neck and face; a neighbor suffered smoke inhalation. Both were treated at the scene. According to county records, the home is owned by George Thompson. (Dan Pelle)
