Courtney Haase, of Spokane, who for the past four years was an assistant at Gonzaga University, is a new assistant coach in the women’s rowing program at Minnesota, the Golden Gophers announced.

Haase is a graduate of Ferris High School and GU, where she was a first-team All-Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association selection as a senior in 2003. She was a two-time All-West Coast Conference coxswain, helping the Bulldogs to three Varsity 8+ WCC titles.

She began her coaching career as an assistant at Saint Mary’s in 2004, returning to her alma mater in 2005 for the first of two stints on the GU staff. She was in her most recent position since 2007, where her responsibilities included recruiting coordinator.
