Cyrus O’Leary’s to auction restaurant items

Cyrus O’Leary’s restaurant will reopen its doors one last time on Saturday to host an auction to benefit the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery.

The landmark restaurant, 516 W. Main Ave., closed recently after 31 years of business. The auction begins at 10 a.m. and includes the antiques and memorabilia as well as restaurant items such as ovens, ice cream machines, tables and booths. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the crisis nursery.

According to a news release, special antique items include: Coca-Cola signs from 1932 and 1953; the front end of a 1959 Cadillac; Pennzoil signs; Sergio Bustamante exotic bird papier-mâché; 1930s carousel horse; mounted sail fish; and bison and water buffalo heads.

A preview of items for sale will be held at the restaurant Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. The auction begins at 10 a.m. Saturday. For more information, call owner Erikki Oranen at (509) 280-0149.
