Bantams rally past Cheney

Robbie DeVleming hauled in a 41-yard touchdown pass from Austin Hansen in the fourth quarter to lead Clarkston to a 25-21 come-from-behind victory over host Cheney in a Great Northern League opener.

Colby Ruark ran for 281 yards on 46 carries and scored two second-half touchdowns for the Bantams, who outscored the Blackhawks 22-7 in the second half to erase an 11-point deficit.

Ben Bissell threw for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead Cheney, which fell to 3-1 overall and 0-1 in the GNL. Clarkston improved to 1-3 and 1-0 in league.

The Blackhawks play at Deer Park on Friday and the Bantams play at East Valley.

Deer Park 38, Pullman 14: The Stags kept their perfect record intact with a rout of the host Greyhounds. Jason Jorgensen ran for 181 yards and scored three touchdowns – two coming in the first half – to lead the Stags. Deer Park held a 17-14 halftime lead, but outscored Pullman 21-0 in the third quarter. The Stags improved to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the GNL. Pullman fell to 1-3 and 0-1.

Northeast 2B

Kettle Falls 13, Davenport 12 (OT): Austin Anderson scored on a 2-yard run in overtime to give the Bulldogs (2-2, 1-1) a win over the visiting Gorillas. Anderson finished with 60 rushing yards and both of Kettle Falls’ touchdowns. Nolan Lilje threw for two touchdowns for Davenport (1-3, 0-2).

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 39, Springdale 6: After a slow first quarter, the Broncos (3-0, 1-0) exploded for 27 second-quarter points and ran past the visiting Chargers (1-2, 1-1). Connor O’Neill ran for 146 yards and three touchdowns to lead Lind-Ritzville/Sprague. Dylan Hartz completed 7 of 14 passes for 111 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for a score.

Colfax 45, Liberty 0: Alvin Li ran for two first-quarter touchdowns as the Bulldogs walloped the visiting Lancers. Colfax outscored Liberty 26-0 in the first quarter and led 39-0 at the half. The Bulldogs improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in league. Liberty fell to 0-4 and 0-2.

Northeast 1B North

Cusick 60, Curlew 18: Alec Bluff ran for 154 yards and scored three first-half touchdowns to lead the Panthers past the host Cougars. Cusick outscored Curlew 24-6 in the second quarter and led 44-12 at halftime. Derrick Bluff had two touchdowns – one rushing and one receiving – for the Panthers, who improved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in league. Brandon Eberly had two rushing touchdowns for the Cougars, who fell to 0-3 and 0-2 in league.

North Star League

Kootenai 64, Clark Fork 28: Brandon Carmen scored two first-half touchdowns to lead the Warriors to a rout of the host Wampus Cats. Kootenai (2-3, 2-2) outscored Clark Fork 22-8 in the first quarter and led 42-22 at the half. Zack Klein and quarterback Stillman Berkley connected for two touchdowns for Clark Fork (1-3, 1-3).

Nonleague

Coeur d’Alene 88, Sandpoint 12: Chad Chalich put up stellar numbers as the Vikings beat an overmatched Bulldogs team in Sandpoint. Chalich completed all 17 of his passes for 287 yards and accounted for seven total touchdowns to lead the way for Coeur d’Alene. The Vikings thoroughly dominated, outscoring the Bulldogs 27-0 in the first quarter and taking a 60-6 halftime lead. Coeur d’Alene improved to 5-0. Sandpoint fell to 1-3.

East Valley 55, Colville 14: The Knights (2-2) routed the visiting Indians (0-4). Taylor Watkins caught two touchdown passes in the first half for East Valley, which scored 21 points in each of the first two quarters to take a commanding 42-0 halftime lead. The Knights’ Adam Talley ran for 126 yards, including an 80-yard score in the first quarter. Ben Baker, Nick Gonzalez, Issac Jordan, William Nixdorf and Troy Jacobs also scored touchdowns for East Valley. Colton Davis scored two second-half touchdowns for Colville.

Moscow 42, Priest River 0: Josh Helbling threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score to power the Bears (3-1) past the visiting Spartans (0-4). Moscow scored seven points in each of the first three quarters, and then exploded for 21 points in the fourth. Hunter Redinger scored twice for Moscow – one receiving and one rushing.

St. Maries 22, Orofino 21: Luke Feasline scored on a 4-yard run with just more than 3 minutes left to give the Lumberjacks (1-3) a slim win over the host Maniacs. Feasline finished 15-of-22 passing for 33 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another score.

Freeman 54, Kellogg 0: Quinn Robinson ran for 127 yards and three touchdowns to guide the Scotties (4-0) to a rout of the host Wildcats (0-4). Freeman displayed its dominance early, outscoring Kellogg 21-0 in the first quarter and 20-0 in the second quarter. The Scotties’ Cody Unfred scored two touchdowns – one rushing and one receiving.

Medical Lake 28, Bonners Ferry 12: Blake Andrews caught a 71-yard touchdown pass and returned an interception for another score as the Cardinals (2-2) beat the visiting Badgers (1-4). Both of Andrews’ scores came in the second half.

Odessa-Harrington 42, Selkirk 0: Jared King ran for 152 yards and two scores and threw for 183 yards and a touchdown to lead the Titans (2-2) to a rout of the visiting Rangers (1-3). Odessa-Harrington established its dominance early, scoring 28 points in the first quarter. Brett Larmer, the Titans’ lone senior, scored two rushing touchdowns in the first half. Odessa-Harrington’s Jacob DeWulf had 11 tackles and a fumble recovery and freshman linebacker Sam Schafer had two sacks.

Lakeside (ID) 60, Northport 14: Brandon Smith threw two touchdown passes to lead the Knights past the visiting Mustangs. Garth Dole added two rushing touchdowns and a touchdown reception for Lakeside, which outscored Northport 30-6 in the second quarter.

Wellpinit 58, Wilbur-Creston 34: A.J. Kieffer ran for 234 yards on 17 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead the Redskins (4-0) past the host Wildcats (2-2). Kieffer ran for a 75-yard touchdown for the game’s first score. Haydon Herdrick threw two touchdown passes to lead Wilbur-Creston.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 44, Columbia-Inchelium 0: Colin Beyarmin ran for 191 yards and scored three touchdowns as the Warriors (4-0) routed the host Timberwolves (1-3). ACH outscored Columbia-Inchelium 20-0 in the second quarter to take a 32-0 halftime lead.

Asotin 20, White Swan 6: The Panthers scored 13 points in the fourth quarter to break away from visiting White Swan. Robert McIntosh had six catches for 47 yards and two touchdowns to lead Asotin.
