In brief: City plans meeting Oct. 3 on Park Road construction

SPOKANE VALLEY – Citizens and business owners are invited to attend an open house to learn more about construction planned for Park Road.

The event is scheduled for Oct. 3 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Seth Woodard Elementary, 7401 E. Mission.

The City’s Public Works Department is planning a reconstruction project on Park Road between Indiana and Broadway. The intersection at Park and Broadway would be redone in concrete and a right turn lane from westbound Broadway to northbound Park may be added.

Current plans call for Broadway to be restriped into one lane in each direction with a center turn lane. Sidewalks in the area would also be upgraded.

The timeline for the project hasn’t been determined and funding is not in place, but the open house is being held to get input on the project and how to lessen impacts to residents and businesses. Call (509) 720-5010 for more information.
