Condon? Shudder!

I shudder to think what it would mean for Spokane to have a mayor like David Condon, who is closely associated with a leader of one of the most divisive congressional sessions in history. We have all witnessed where the “no compromise,” conservative-dominated U.S. House of Representatives took the nation this past summer.

It’s been a nightmare that helps big corporations and the wealthy – not working people. The downward spiral of jobs lost and the economy-crashing financial shenanigans started with the George W. Bush presidency. Cathy McMorris Rodgers votes lock-step with the Republican leadership, and there’s no reason to expect David Condon, her close local minion-manager, would promote anything different than these conservative “principles.”

The people deserve the benefit of Verner’s steady hand at the wheel of city government and her far-sighted planning for improving our economy and bringing family wage jobs to the area. Spokane doesn’t need to bring ugly partisan politics to our mayor’s office. That’s why I urge everyone to vote to re-elect Mary Verner for a second term as Spokane’s mayor.

Get ready for the campaign to “go negative.” That’s another trademark conservatives’ approach to getting elected – and one thing they are especially good at.
