Regina Joy McRae (Vollmer): born November 17, 1962 in Santa Monica, California; died March 26, 2012.
She is survived by her parents: Reg and Molly Vollmer; sister, Heidi Vollmer; brother, Ted Vollmer; sons: Nathan McRae, Justin McRae and Andrew McRae.
Joy attended Willard Elementary, Glover Middle School and graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1980.
Joy fought a long battle with brain cancer, starting in 1993.
Against the odds, she managed to raise three sons, became an accomplished seamstress, served as a Cub Scout Leader and badge advisor, played the viola in the Project Joy Orchestra and the Gonzaga Orchestra and volunteered for many years at a local nursing home.
We would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Holy Family Hospital and Manor Care Nursing Home and also her dedicated doctors.
An Open House Gathering and informal memorial will be held Tuesday, April 3, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
No services, just come and stay a few minutes or as long as you’d like.
