Stay off flooded trail, city officials warn
The Spokane Fire Department is warning residents to stay clear of trails made dangerous by flooding.
Parts of the Centennial Trail on Upriver Drive east of Mission Avenue are under water, city spokeswoman Marlene Feist said in a news release. Inundated trails should be considered closed to users, the release said.
Spokane River flows are approaching flood stage, which is 27 feet. City officials warn that no one, especially children, should play in the river. Drivers are also warned against driving over flooded roads, as even water six inches deep may cause a car to stall, the release said.
