Obituary: Eddy, Bobbee Judd

Age 88

EDDY, Bobbee Judd

Passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Touchmark in Spokane, Washington.

She had been battling cancer for over two years.

Bobbee was born June 6, 1923 to Thomas Henry and Polly Mitchell Judd in Yakima, WA.

Bobbee was a 1941 graduate of Lewis and Clark High School, the third Lilac Queen for Spokane in 1942.

She entered the Air WACs and served during World War II.

She returned to Washington State University and graduated with a degree in journalism.

She married Walter Richard Eddy in April of 1946 and later divorced.

Bobbee was an elementary teacher and loved teaching young children.

She retired from teaching in 1985 and began working closely with many different associations.

She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma, ETA Chapter, Friends of Manito, Associated Garden Club, and a longtime member of Westminster Congregational Church.

She loved Spokane and was involved with her community through service in many ways.

She was especially happy when she was in her garden planting, weeding or pruning or just admiring new growth and blooms.

She was a Master Gardener and knew her plants well, especially her lilacs.

A very special part of her life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She took such joy and pride in all their accomplishments.

Bobbee is survived by her daughter and husband, Terry and Ken Morgan, Walla Walla, WA, her daughter, Tracy Eddy, Spokane, WA; and her son and wife, Judd and Madeleine Eddy, Pasadena, CA.

She is survived by her sister, Georgeanna Abbott, Tacoma, WA.

She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Michelle Weinmaster (Dan), Vancouver, WA, LSC Abraham Confer, Everett, WA, Jeff Morgan, Kaneohe, HI, Aurelia Peterson (Joel), Seattle, WA, Allison Eddy, Seattle, WA, Emmee Confer, Spokane, WA, SPC Mitchell Confer (Amanda), Tacoma, WA, and Tom Eddy, Seattle, WA.

She is survived by her five great-grandchildren: Morgan Daniel, Joel Henry, Kenan Thomas, Natalie Grace and Leila Faith Weinmaster of Vancouver, WA.

She is also survived by nieces and nephews: Brice Beckmann (Elaine), Mt.

Shasta, CA, Blaine Beckmann (Karen), Novato, CA, Brady Beckmann (Beth), Folsom, CA, Gayle Johnson (Dave), Kris Thompson and Brent Thompson, all of Tacoma, WA.

Bobbee is survived by many dear friends and especially her friend of over 60 years, Phyllis Northrop.

A special thank you to all her Park friends, her gardening friends, her Delta Kappa Gamma sisters and her friends at Westminster Congregational Church.



A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at the Finch Arboretum in the Woodland Center.

Please wear lilac or purple to honor her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the following places, Spokane Parks Foundation, the Polly Judd Park, the Spokane Lilac Association, the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
