FAIRBANKS, Rosina
(Age 98)

Of Four Lakes, WA passed away on March 29, 2012.

She was born to Jacob and Flora Rufer at Fort McCoy, Florida on November 8, 1913.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Fairbanks; brother Jacob Rufer; sister Irene Rufer.

She is survived by her sister Lorene Remmers of Reardan; children: Ralph Fairbanks (Pam) Olympia, Laura Lindvall, Spokane, Irene Carman (Bruce) Oak Harbor, Betty Lyerla (James) Spokane, Don Fairbanks (Marsha) Cheney, Lois Fairbanks, Kent; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosina graduated from Scapoose High School, Scapoose, Oregon in 1930 and then attended Behnke Walker Business School in Portland.

She and James Fairbanks were married in 1932 in Silverton, OR.

In 1944 the family moved to the Colville area and later farmed on the Kettle River near Orient, WA.

In 1958 the family moved to Cheney, WA where Rosina worked as Deputy City Clerk for the City of Cheney for 23 years.

She retired in 1981.

Rosina had many interests including ceramics, oil painting, gardening, sewing, playing the accordion, woodworking, and traveling.

She also enjoyed camping and gold panning with her husband.

She was a member of The Hub Club and Four Lakes Community Church.

Rosina’s life was an example of goodness, integrity and loyalty.

She was dearly loved by her family and friends.

She will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 7 at 10:00 a.m. at CHENEY FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1632 W. FIRST ST., CHENEY, WA .

Visitation and viewing will be on Friday, April 6 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
