William Walter

Passed away in Colville, WA, on March 29, 2012.

Bill, born September 4, 1943, in Colville, was the oldest son of Merlin Walter and Rose Marie (Laird) Artman.
Bill spent his growing-up years in Colville, graduating from Colville High School in 1961.

Some time later he graduated with a business degree from Eastern Washington University.

In 1983, he moved to Spokane and continued working in commercial lending at First National Bank of Spokane and moved with them through their transition to U.S. National Bank.

Some time after that, Bill suffered a stroke and, although he fought back courageously, his declining health required his early retirement and he relocated back to his family roots in Colville.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and numerous aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his two sons, Travis M. Artman (Erin) and Stephen W. Artman, all of Spokane, WA; siblings, Dennis Artman (Anne) of Federal Way, WA, Kathy (Artman) Thomas (Gary) of Colville, WA, Greg Artman of Wilsonville, OR; numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for “Bill” Artman will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at the Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory, with Pastor Shane Moffitt officiating.

Cremation will follow the funeral service at the Danekas Crematory with an ash interment at the Calvary Cemetery in Colville.
