(Age 81)

Passed away peacefully on Friday, April 6, 2012 at Manor Care Nursing Home while recovering from a stroke.

He was born in Seattle, WA and lived in Cedar Valley, Concrete, WA and Anacortes, WA before moving to Spokane, WA in 1971.

While in high school, Glen joined the Navy and at the Memphis, Tennessee Naval Station he received training to become a Storekeeper.

After serving in the Korean War he returned to Seattle, WA.

It was here that he met and married Clararose Cullen.

They were married in the Quaker Church in Seattle on June 25, 1954.

Three sons came to bless their home: Stevan Thomas Childs of Spokane, WA; Randal Glen Childs of Spokane, WA and Wayne Nathaniel Childs of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Glen and his three sons where avid automobile enthusiasts.

The family was blessed to attend the Quaker Church until 1971 when Glen’s employment with Firestone Tire Co transferred him to Spokane, WA.

After retiring from Firestone Tire Co and Spokane Galvanizing Co, Glen became a very active member of Corbin Senior Activity Center.

While there, he and his wife became Travel Escorts and enjoyed tours all over the U.S. and Mexico.

Glen always had a friendly smile, a warm greeting and a humorous reply to share with everyone he met.

Glen is survived by his wife, three sons and sister, Rosalie Gourley of Spokane, WA.

One sister, Geraldine Gibbons of Edmonds, WA preceded him in death.

Glen was also blessed with a large family that included ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many cousins and various relatives.

The family enjoyed sharing in reunions, events and activities through the years.

He will be missed greatly by his family, friends, coffee buddies and travel companions.

Prayers will be said and Blessings given from the Life Center Church with Pastor Joe Wittwer where he and his family now attend worship.

A memorial service will be held at Corbin Senior Activity Center, 827 W. Cleveland, Spokane, WA on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at high noon.
