Neva

Neva Arlene Slater Chlarson, 53, of Orem, Utah, passed away Saturday, March 24th, 2012 after a very short period of illness.
She was born in Kennewick, Washington on August 15th, 1958.

Neva attended High School in Kellogg, Idaho.

She spent many years as part of the Theater Department at Spokane Falls Community College where she acted in, directed and wrote numerous productions through the 1980’s.


On February 29th, 2012 after 20 years of marriage, Neva celebrated her 5th wedding anniversary to Dennis M. Chlarson.

Neva and Dennis were married on Leap Day in 1992 in the theater at SFCC.
Neva was a fanatical wife, mother and grandmother; a deeply passionate lover of dogs, always choosing to rescue her beloved animals from shelters; an avid supporter of the Utah Jazz and absolutely addicted to good music.


Neva is survived by loving husband Dennis M. Chlarson of Orem, UT; children Michael L. Somers Jr. of Spokane, WA; Zachary E. Somers of Colville, WA; Scott P. Somers of Anchorage, AK; and Kellye I.

Foster of Salt Lake City, Utah; 10 beautiful Grandchildren; Six loving siblings Carl Slater, Mark Slater, Dale Slater, June Smith, Dean Slater and Katherine Slater-Conrath.
Neva was preceded in death by her Father, Harold K. Slater (Rusty) and her mother Phyllis R. Slater (Mama).


A private memorial service will be held in Orem, Utah on April 28th.
