Obituary: Valdez, Allene Mae

Age 85

VALDEZ,
Allene Mae
(Wampnar)

Allene was born on September 1, 1926, in Lewiston, Idaho, to Fred and Eva Wampnar.

She peacefully passed away in her sleep on March 22, 2012, at the age of 85.

Her large family living in Spokane, Seattle and Norway was always important to Allene.
Allene is survived by Fred, her husband of 66 years; her children, Diana, Michael and wife Beate, Robert, Laurie, Tina and Jeanine; six granddaughters; four great-granddaughters, three great-grandsons; her siblings, Fred, Margie, Lawrence, Yvonne and numerous nieces and nephews.
Allene was the oldest of five children and was raised in Rock Island, Washington, where she enjoyed attending school reunions.

As a long time resident of Spokane, she took pleasure in gardening, and she especially liked roses.

She appreciated a wide variety of music, had a good sense of humor and enjoyed comedy shows such as I Love Lucy.

Allene loved to learn and loved words; that’s why she had to have her daily crossword puzzle.

Her most memorable passion was researching the family tree on both sides and sharing stories of what she had discovered.
Friday April 13, 2012, at 6 PM, a Rosary will be held at St. Paschal Catholic Church and Saturday April 14th, at 11 AM, the Mass of Christian Burial and reception will be held at St. Paschal’s with family and friends.

Light food and beverages will be served as we honor Allene’s life.

Location for both at 2523 N. Park Road, Spokane Valley.
