Hazel Marie Russell passed away March 14, 2012 in Spokane.

Hazel was born to Frank and Sylvia Bazinet at Wilmette, Illinois on February 4, 1915.

She was raised in Granite and Philipsburg, Montana, and graduated from Granite County High School in 1932.

She moved to Spokane to further her education where she met and married William (Shorty) Russell in 1936.

He passed away in 1990.

Hazel was preceded in death by her brother Stephen Bazinet; her sister Sylvia Swanson; and her granddaughter Cheryl LeRoux Andrejeski.

She is survived by her sister Arseal Brittsan of Portland, OR; her son Darrell (Sylvia) Russell of Lewiston, ID; her daughter Marguerite Lynne LeRoux of Chandler, AZ; three grandsons; one granddaughter; three great-grandsons; four great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Hazel enjoyed a long career with Western Soap Company.

She was a Gonzaga basketball fan and an avid bridge player.

She spent many happy summers at the family cabin on Lake Coeur d’Alene.

A memorial service will be held April 14, 2012 at 10:30am at Riverview Terrace Chapel, 1801 East Upriver Drive, Spokane.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Riverview Terrace, Riverview Rehab Center, and niece Reba Vosecky for the loving care and compassion shown to Hazel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riverview Terrace Retirement Community or a charity of choice.
