Area churches offer parents a night out

Two Valley churches are offering parents a night out on Friday.

• Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Pines Road, will have its “Parents Night Out” from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. There will be dinner and activities for the kids. The cost is $5 per family. Information: (509) 924-9750.

• The night out event at Zion Lutheran Church, 8304 E. Buckeye Ave., will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. There will be a movie, popcorn, crafts and games. The cost is $5 per child and proceeds will be used for a youth trip. Information: (509) 926-5407.

Formal tea

If you have always wanted to attend a high tea, now is your chance. Job’s Daughters will host a formal tea at 2 p.m. today at Opportunity Christian Church to raise money for Spokane’s Shriners Hospital for Children.

Those attending are asked to dress nicely; gloves and hats are encouraged. The cost is $10 at the door. The church is at 708 N. Pines Road.

New service

Valley Real Life Church is now offering a worship service at 7 p.m. every Thursday. The service is designed for those who are unable to attend services on Sunday. The church is at 1831 S. Barker Road.
