Obituary: Basinger, Shirley Louise

BASINGER, Shirley Louise

Shirley lost her courageous and heroic battle with liver cancer on November 23rd, 2011.

She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones in her home in Colbert, WA.

Shirley was born to Floyd “Bud” and Beulah Weber at Deaconess Hospital, in Spokane, on April 19th, 1946.

She is survived by her husband Don, of 46 years; her daughter, son-in-law, two granddaughters of Colorado; her son, daughter-in-law and son; granddaughter and three great-grandchildren of Spokane, WA.

Her brother, his wife and family of Pasco, WA; many cousins, nieces, and nephews who all held a special, tender spot in her heart.

Shirley’s greatest and first love was her relationship with God and secondly her husband.

Her favorite things were babies, butterflies, hummingbirds and the rebirth that spring brings.

She always saw and encouraged the love and good in people with her smile, open kind heart and encouraging words.

Shirley graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1964 and went on to graduate from Mr. Lee’s School of Cosmetology in 1965.

Shirley cared deeply for her friends and family and she showed it without hesitation.

Those new to her soon became enveloped in that love and kindness with no strings or judgments attached.

We are all the richer for having her in our lives
and feel the absence of her in our lives greatly.
A remembrance will be held Thursday, April 19th at the family home in Colbert, from 2-5pm, call 467-0662 for details.
