Arboretum is site of Compost Fair

 

The 32nd semi-annual Compost Fair, held by the Spokane Master Composters/Recyclers, will be April 28 at Finch Arboretum, beginning at 11 a.m. The event is part of the Arbor Day Celebration.

Activity stations will be set up for hands-on experience and to provide information on materials that can be composted, types of bins, and how to build and turn a pile.

The fair is free and open to Spokane residents. People who provide identification verifying residence can receive a free compost bin after completing the activity stations. There is a limit of one bin per household. The bins are provided by Spokane Regional Solid Waste System and grant funds from the Washington Department of Ecology.
