Clayton B.
“Fitz”
(Age 91)

Entered into rest on April 13, 2012 in Spokane, WA, his lifelong home.

Locally, he attended North Central High School.

Fitz was a hard worker.

As a young man, Fitz worked for the Jacobson Bakery first as a loader and later as a delivery driver.

He next went to work on the road as a sales representative for Jensen Byrd Co. Later, he was employed as a toll bridge operator.

After serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII, Fitz worked for the State of Washington retiring in 1982, after 25 years of employment.

He was a 50-year, life member of VFW #1474, the Washington State Employees Assn., and a member of Eagles Lodge Aerie #2, AARP, the NRA, and Messiah Lutheran Church.

Fitz loved to hunt and fish.

The highlight of his life was meeting and marrying his true love, Dorothy Hoyum, on February 3, 1940.

They loved life together, traveling to all 50 states, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and England.

Fitz lost Dorothy on June 19, 2006, when she made her final trip to heaven.

He joins her now for eternity.

Fitz is survived by his daughter, Judith Ann McKelvey of Baker City, OR; sister, Patricia Barton of Spokane; three grandchildren, Debbie Jo, Stacy Marie, and Cary Lynn; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Fitz will be on Thursday, April 19 from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 4305 N. DIVISION SPOKANE, WA .

Funeral service will be at Riplinger’s beginning at 1:00PM on Friday, April 20, 2012, Rev.

Virtus Young, officiating.

Entombment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace, Serenity Mausoleum in Spokane.
