Several crashes this morning temporarily blocked roads in the Spokane area. Approximately 2 a.m., a crash on Newport Highway closed one lane for a while as investigators looked into the crash as a possible DUI, KHQ reported. One passenger was taken to the hospital with injuries. Later, around 4:45 a.m., a two-car crash at Wellesley and Haven resulted in a Hummer flipping to its side after a truck ran a flashing red light, officials said. No injuries were reported and the streets are now clear. Officer Teresa Fuller of the Spokane Police Department later said a crash around 7:15 a.m. at Hamilton Street and Sinto Avenue was blocking traffic.
