NASH, Patricia

Died of natural causes April 14, 2012 while tending her garden at her home in Wenatchee, Washington.

Pat was born to Doris and Dr. Frank Nash, March 24, 1936, and grew up in Townsend, Montana.

Pat Graduated Broadwater County High School in 1954 and Gonzaga University in 1958.

She served in the first group of Peace Corps volunteers from 1961-1963 in the Philippines.

Pat worked as a Microbiologist primarily in Spokane, Washington, where she raised her daughter Katrina.

She retired from Sacred Heart Hospital in 1992 and moved cross-state to Camano Island.

She was active in the Native Plant Society, Audubon, Island County Beachwatchers and Friends of Camano Island Parks.

She led interpretive beach and trail walks and picked up vast quantities of litter along many miles of beaches.

Pat wrote natural world articles for the local newspaper, various newsletters and the WSU Beachwatchers website.

In 2009 Pat moved to Wenatchee, Washington to be nearer to her daughter and grandchildren.

Again she reached out to her community and enjoyed her outings to the senior center and playing pinochle, scrabble and swimming.

She maintained close friendships from everywhere she lived and was a most loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her brother Jack Nash of Bozeman, Montana, Peter Nash of Arizona, her daughter Katrina (Clement) Keppler and her son-in-law Bryan Keppler, DVM, together with her teenage grandchildren, Kayla Keppler and Patrick Keppler of Wenatchee.

Pat will find final rest at the family plot in Townsend, Montana.
