DOMBROSKI, Richard L.J.

“Dick”

Dick was born in Aberdeen, WA and lived there until he enrolled at the University of Washington in 1937.

In 1938, he received a scholarship to Western Washington University where he graduated with a B.A.

in Education.
With the start of the war he joined the Navy Reserves and was sent to the Midshipman school at Columbia University.

After graduating from the Submarine Chaser Training he was dispatched to the South Pacific to board his ship and take command.
After a number of campaigns he returned to the states and was discharged in 1946.
Dick met and married Barbara Wilcox in 1946.

He is survived by his two daughters, Barbara Jan Leedle and LeeAnn Greaves and their husbands, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Dick was an educator in the Auburn, WA school district where he took on many roles: principal, teacher and administrator.
Dick was a beloved husband, father, uncle and grandfather.
A committal service will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 11:15 A.M. at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA.
