Obituary: Hall, Richard A.

HALL,
Richard A.

On the evening of February 10, 2012 Dick put on his favorite yellow outfit, strapped on his skis and made his final run.

Dick was born November 30, 1945 in Great Falls, Montana to Dr. Earl and Marianne Hall.

Along with his brother Ron, his sister Ann and his twin brother Dave, the family enjoyed many adventures traveling every summer to Medical Conferences across the country.

Annual winter vacations were spent at Sun Valley.

Dick started skiing at age four wearing shoes inside his ski boots, because there were none small enough.

His passion for skiing endured his entire life.

Dick graduated from Great Falls High in 1964.

He attended Montana State University and then graduated from Eastern Washington University in 1969.

Dick was an avid Eagles football fan, even attending the NCAA Division I National Championship game in Frisco, TX in January of 2011.
A beloved husband and devoted father, Dick was happiest spending time with his family.

He is survived by his bride of thirty seven years, Claudia.

His children, whom he adored: Matt of Spokane, WA, Laurie Hanna and grandson Zach of Simi Valley, CA and Chris and grandchildren, Gabbie and Tanner of Sherwood, OR.

Also surviving are his godsons, Chris and Nate and their parents, Christal and Tim Raver of Spokane, WA.

Siblings: Ron Hall of Great Falls, MT; Ann (Gary) Groshelle of Billings, MT; Dave (Susie) Hall of Great Falls, MT, and their families.

He is also survived by Claudia’s family: Brother-in-law, George (Margie) Willett and Charlie (Betsy) Willett and their families.

He will be greatly missed by his dear friends in the Saturday morning Coffee Gang and by his close neighborhood friends, spanning over thirty plus years.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, he enjoyed coaching baseball for son Chris and soccer for son Matt and Godson Chris.

Dick enjoyed nothing more than a great round of golf.

Never one to succumb to peer pressure, Dick was a lifetime Viking fan in a house full of Packers!

A celebration of Dick’s life will take place April 28th at Twigs Restaurant, 4320 S. Regal at 1:00 pm.

A previous celebration was held on February 19, 2012 in Montana at his beloved Showdown Ski Area.

It was a fitting send off for an incredible guy.
