Obituary: Ward, Sarah I.

Age 51

WARD, Sarah I.
(Age 51)

Having fought the good fight and enduring to the end, she finished her race here in mortality, to enter into her eternal rest, hearing the words, “Well done, thy good and faithful servant, enter into thy rest”.

Being welcomed back home by family and friends to be with our Heavenly Parents made possible only through the atonement of our Savior, Jesus the Christ on Thursday, April 19, 2012 in Spokane, WA.

She was born on November 16, 1960 in San Mateo, CA to Arthur Neale and Winona (Allen) Zwahlen.

She was the youngest of three daughters.

On August 29, 1981 she and Bart had their marriage solemnized in the LDS Oakland Temple for Time and all Eternity.

She graduated from Ricks College in 1980 and SFSU in 1982, as the Honor Graduate for the Humanities Department and gave birth to their oldest son, Frank Barton Ward IV, two weeks later.

She was a proud stay at home mom working around her family’s schedule to be there for them.

She was a light of hope to all those that came into her presence and she had the ability of making friends with great ease.

She was full of grace and beauty, was a true daughter in Zion, one of the angels among us.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Town & Country Quilters, Stem-cell Transplant Support Group at CCNW and her monthly Mickey D’s French Fry & Diet Coke Girl’s Social Club (where boy’s were not allowed, but could be invited).

She loved music, the Arts, quilting, dance, a great movie, spending time with family and friends.

She always had a book or an iPad 2 in her hand and a shoe collection that Imelda Marcus would be proud of.

Christmas-time will never be the same without Mom being there to helpl us celebrate.

She is survived by her eternal companion, Bart; four children, Laura Ward-ElByr (Waiel Luca), Frank Barton Ward IV, Evan J.

Ward and Jonathan D. Ward; two sisters, Isabell Jensen and Iris Larned (David); several nieces and nephews and a legion of friends, especially those that are walking down the path with their individual battle with the “Big C”.

She was preceded in death by her parents Neale and Winona.

A memorial service to celebrate our Heavenly Father’s Plan of Happiness for all His children and Sarah’s life will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. at the LDS Bowdish Chapel, 40th & Bowdish, Spokane Valley, WA with Bishop Gary Percival conducting.

Private burial will be at South Pines Cemetery, Spokane Valley.

The family would like to express their deep thanks and love to Drs.

Joni Nichols, Stephanie Moline and Robert Fairbanks, Nurse Debbie, Tess Taft and the many others that help at CCNW, SCCA, U of W Medical Center, the Fred Hutchinson Center and SHMC, Seventh South for all their loving and professional care; the special gift and talents of Dr. Al Oliva and his staff; Paula Dillion-Mays, Kelly Sharkey and staff at South Hill Physical Therapy and Phyllis and the staff at the Walmart Pharmacy on Broadway.

Also those that helped Sarah, as caregivers in Seattle in 2009; Debbie and Randy Woolf here in Spokane with our Jon-Jon and many others, too numerous to name, because we don’t know where to draw the line.

A very special thanks to all those associates of the Dignity Memorial family and Pines Cemetery for all their love, care and attention to detail at this most difficult of times.

Memorials may be made to Cancer Care Northwest, 601 S. Sherman St, Spokane, WA 99202.

“Love you, Babe”
