Obituary: Tumlinson, Verno

TUMLINSON, Verno C.

On April 22, 2012 Verno Tumlinson passed away peacefully with loving family by his side.

He is survived by loving wife Shirley of 56 years, four sons, Allen, Marc, Cory and Eric, and by his brothers Bill and Joel.


Verno always had a quick witted humor.

He turned any trying situation into one that made you smile.

After surviving a severe stroke 17 years ago he maintained his sense of humor with balanced perspective.


His wife Shirley is to be praised and credited with many years of lovingly caring for his daily needs.

The family deeply appreciates the Treglowns’ care during the last months of his life.
He was very fond of his three beautiful and devoted daughters-in-law Leah, Carol and Shari.

He has grandchildren, Chris, Jeremy, Travis and Ashley and two great grandchildren, Ethan and Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his sister Inez, and brothers Melvin, Lloyd, Bernarr.


He was a lifelong, very skilled painter/wall paper hanger.

Spending 37 years making the Spokane landmark Ridpath Hotel look beautiful.
As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he set a sterling example of his faith.

He served his God Jehovah from when just a teen until his last breath.

During WW2 Verno spent time in prison for taking a solid stand for his Bible based beliefs.

He spent many years in the full time ministry and enjoyed nothing better than helping ones to learn the truth from God’s Word the Bible.


We miss this precious man already .


The Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Sunset Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on 4527 W. Garden Springs Road, Spokane, WA.
