Obituary: Reynolds, Mansfield

“Mans”
(Age 94)

Mansfield “Mans” Reynolds entered into rest on Monday April 23, 2012.

He was born on August 14, 1917 to Oliver Reynolds and Selma “Evenson” Reynolds on a farm in Ferdinand, Idaho the oldest of five boys.
Mans attended grade school in Kooski, ID, Colville and Omak, WA.

He attended Junior High School in Omak, WA.

He was nineteen when he met Ruby Potvin only seeing her a couple of times a year at community gatherings.

At the age of twenty Mans moved to the Washington coast where he spent two years as a heavy equipment operator.

At twenty-two he moved to Spokane where he saw Ruby again.

They were married nine months later.

Their marriage lasted for 72 years before Ruby preceded Mans in death in May of 2011.
Mans is survived by his brother Arthur and his sons M.G.

“Boots” and Dawn, Bruce and Gloria and Wayne and Brenda.

Mans and Ruby have eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews too numerous to count.
Mans worked several jobs during his life as a grocery clerk, rancher, logger, mechanic, welder, heavy equipment operator and at Mt.

Spokane State Park for 10 years full time and an additional 15 years during the winter months.

Mans loved to tease about how he retired over thirteen times, but the winter work was how he made his spending money.
Mans was an avid elk hunter going to the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness and his good hunting buddies Alan Lakoduk and Leroy Ackaret can tell many tales about how they brought out over sixty-five head of elk from the Round Top Mountain area.

Mans was able to count 36 of those elk as his kills.

He loved camping, fishing and cooking outdoors over a campfire.

The guys would pack in enough gear and supplies to stay a month if necessary all carried in on horseback.

It was some of his favorite times and his best stories.
Mans was smart, funny and an honorable man.

He was what we strive to be.

We should all be as caring, generous, hardworking, loyal, and honest as he has been throughout his life.

We are proud to have had him in our lives and he will be missed more than words can express.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, April 28th at 10:00 am at Peone Prairie Cemetery in Mead, WA.
