Travis Pastrana said he’s not in this on a lark. The X Games and motocross star is set to make his Nationwide Series debut today ( 4:30 p.m. on ESPN2) at Richmond (Va.) International raceway. His arrival comes almost nine months after it was supposed to, courtesy of a shattered right ankle, and he’s “really pumped.” The winner of 11 gold medals in the X Games is expected to bring a younger fan base with him. He says many people don’t seem to understand why he’s trying to cross over to NASCAR, and that he understands that he’s got a lot of work to do. But he says he’s willing to put in the time to show that’s he’s racing to win. – AP
