CDA’s Alaskan mine in full production

An Alaskan gold mine owned by Coeur d’Alene Mines Corp. is back to full production, company officials said Thursday.

Last November, mining and milling operations were scaled back at the Kensington Mine, which is about 45 miles north of Juneau, while several underground and surface projects took place.

Most of those projects are complete or will be finished by July, officials said. The work includes upgrades to the electrical system, a new warehouse and worker dormitory.

The mine opened in mid-2010 following two decades of permitting battles.
